Patsy Craney Obituary

RANDOLPH - Patsy Sharp Craney, 75, was granted her angel wings on Friday morning, Feb. 17, 2017, at home in Randolph, Vermont, after a long battle with cancer.
Patsy was born on April 5, 1941, in Stillwater, Maine, to parents Thomas Sharp and Avis Sharp. She graduated from Platt High School in 1959 in Meriden, Connecticut, and from Community College of Vermont when she was 67 years old with an associate's degree in office management. Patsy moved to Meriden when she was a teenager and lived there for many years until moving to Randolph, in 1988. Patsy worked for Eyelet Specialty in Wallingford, Connecticut, Ethan Allen in Randolph, and Wal-Mart in West Lebanon, New Hampshire, where she retired from in 2015 due to illness. Patsy was active in Tres Dias and in her faith at United Church of Randolph and prior to moving to Vermont, at South Meriden Trinity United Methodist Church in South Meriden, Connecticut.
Patsy is survived by her husband, Ernest D. Craney I, whom she was married to for 57 years; children, Charlotte Ward and husband, Bryan, of Bethel, Vermont, Idella Craney, of North Attleboro, Massachusetts, and Ernest Craney II and wife, Kimberly, of Randolph; sister Mavis McConnell, of Meriden; grandchildren Thomas, Karyl and Christopher Michaud, Charlotte Goodwin, Sunshine White and Shilo Ward, and Kelsy Brown, Ernest III and Adam Craney; great-grandchildren Sierra and Colton Goodwin. She was preceded in death by her infant daughter, Karyl Anne Craney; brother Albert Sharp, of Wallingford, and sister Idella Lashway, of Missouri.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 21, at the United Church of Randolph, with the Rev. Roger Wotton officiating. Calling hours were from 4 to 6 p.m. Monday at the Day Funeral Home in Randolph. Burial will be in the spring in Pleasant View Cemetery. Contributions in her memory may be made to the United Church, Main Street, Randolph, VT 05060. Online condolences may be left at www.dayfunerals.com.
