It was heartwarming and touching at The Moth storytelling last night to see and hear your father. Dear Lori,
I am so sad for you and your loss. Please ask if there is anything I can do for you. Your generosity of spirit has made me happy and I wish the best for you during the time it will take for healing. I remember your enthusiasm about going with family to the Grace Potter concert last summer and enjoyed the gorgeous clothes and jewelry you encouraged me to buy recently. This is so sudden and sad. With warmth and affection and hope, confident in your inner resources and the large circle of family and friends you have for support.

Lori, Alex, and Devin...
Two years ago, during a hot July, Rick and you guys opened your home to a complete stranger and made me feel right at home. It takes love and warmth to turn a house into a home, and from what I felt, I know that laughter will once again return to that kitchen where you shared so many excellent meals and times. And Rick could not have been more open and welcoming; what a bright light and great spirit!

My love and thoughts are with all of you.

Dearest Lori and Daughters,
How so sorry I am for the sudden loss of Rick! Lori, hard to believe its over 30 years together and that you knew how strong your love was then and now! Incredible, really, to have had such a wonderful time together. I know you have an abundance of strong memories, too. I am sad I don't have more of the two of you but was there when the house was bare, just 3 walls! That pig was delish--have had a few whole roasted since then! See it clearly as I know you will, too, when the fog lifts! Take your time and stay connected. With love. Meryl

Rick,

The snow you loved has kept us away from your service tonight. The annual AGC ski day is tomorrow which may be cancelled because of a snow storm. Sounds like one of your crazy jokes. I'll miss you and so will the whole gang here at AH Harris. You had a great spin and a great smile.

Ricky, I can picture you so clearly turning to me on the chairlift and saying "I don't know". I know that I'm saddened by your death and yesterday took a top to bottom run at Snowbird in your honor with the wind blowing back the tears. I also know how proud you should be of Lorie and your children. Time will help, but the good times will never go away. Your friend, Randy

Dearest Lori,
I remember when I first met you so many years ago when I was a young newlywed here in Waitsfield. Such genuine warmth and then your signature gorgeous smile. You have always been so full of rich, candid and no nonsense love and pluck. No wonder Rick loved you so. He always will.
I can't imagine how deep your shock and grief must run. As such a passionate person, it must be that much deeper. Please know how surrounded you are with the love, respect and care of so many of us, near and far. Know that we are and will continue to pray for you and think of you and your and Rick's dear daughters. We love you and wish you to feel protected and safe at this time of unfathomable grief.
Much, much love to you, Lori, and to your girls.
With affection,
Susan

Lori, Alix, Devin and all in the Klein Family Pod -

You have been in our thoughts and things here at the MICU are not the same with your lively clan. We Voigts have been so moved by your courage and strength Lori, so touched by by the devotion of your daughters and their partners, and we miss the company of you all. We will remember Rick through you, loving Mulan, chopping wood, stoic and hard working, with great music in the background. While the circumstance of our meeting were so unfortunate, the grace and solace of your company was a true gift.

In Friendship,

The Voigts (Ellen, Dudley, Will & Fran)

I worked with Rick on the Ski Patrol at Sugarbush. I was 17 and I looked up to him. He taught me how to work hard, and how to play hard. Doing a good job was important to Rick, but so was getting in some good turns. He had this great enthusiasm and was a fun guy to be around. My thoughts are with you Lori, Alix, Devon and family.
