Roger J. Buswell

WASHINGTON - Roger James Buswell, of Woodchuck Hollow Road, died Saturday, June 18, 2016, at University of Vermont Medical Center following a brief illness. He was 64.
Born on July 22, 1951, in Montpelier, Vermont, he was the son of George A. and Doreen E. Buswell.
Roger grew up in Chelsea and was a graduate of Chelsea High School.
On Oct. 2, 1982, he married the love of his life, Dona (Durkee) Buswell. She died April 20, 2005.
For more than 39 years, he was employed at Brookhaven School for Boys in the maintenance department, retiring in February 2015.
He was a motor sports enthusiast and enjoyed riding motorcycles, watching auto racing and old hot-rod cars.
Besides his parents, a grandson, Kyle Allen Benson, predeceased him.
He leaves two daughters, Lisa Coburn and husband, David, of Vershire, Vermont, and Freda Jo Benson and husband, Robert, of Washington, Vermont; two sons, Michael R. Waterman and wife, Cindy, of Clayton, North Carolina, and Jason A. Waterman, of Washington; grandchildren: Amber Braley and husband, Tyler, of Post Mills, Vermont, Tisha Coburn, of Wilder, Vermont, James Waterman, Dylan Benson, and Desiree Benson, all of Washington, and Logan Waterman of Raleigh, North Carolina; great-grandchildren Adam Braley and Aiden Braley, both of Post Mills, and Payschence Donovan Coburn and Shawn Donovan, both of Vershire; three brothers, Allen Buswell and wife, Vicky, of Montpelier, John Buswell and wife, Barbara, of Thompson, Vermont, and David Buswell, of Barre, Vermont; two sisters, Jan Gregiore and husband, Jr., of Woodbury, Vermont, and Susan Austin and husband Tony of Tennessee; as well as several nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, June 25, at Maple Hill Cemetery in Washington, Vermont.
Calling hours will be held from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., Thursday, June 23, at Hale Funeral Home, 187 Upper Plain, Bradford, Vermont.
Memorial donations may be made to the Brookhaven School for Boys, 331 Vt. Route 110, Chelsea, VT 05038.
