Roger Jarvis Obituary

WILLIAMSTOWN - Roger Milton Jarvis, 61, died Monday, Dec. 6, 2010, at his home after a long illness. He was born May 17, 1949, in Montpelier, the son of Sidney and Claire (Hebert) Jarvis. He was a disabled American veteran having served in the U.S. Army in Vietnam. He had been employed as an auto mechanic and carpenter in the area for many years. He enjoyed hunting and fishing and particularly going to hunting camp. He was a communicant of St. Edwards Church in Williamstown. He had been a member of the former VFW in Northfield.

Surviving are three brothers: Thomas Jarvis, Wayne Jarvis and Carl Jarvis, all of Williamstown; three sisters, Angeline Covey and Pamela Roux both of Williamstown and Antoinette Moore of Germantown, Ohio and many nieces and nephews.

A funeral Mass will be celebrated Friday at 11 a.m. in St. John's Church in Northfield. Calling hours will be held at the Kingston Funeral Home, 35 Slate Avenue in Northfield Friday from 9:30 a.m. until the hour of the mass. The burial will take place in the springtime at the Vermont Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Randolph. Full military honors will be accorded Mr. Jarvis at that time.

Memorial contributions may be made either to Bayada Hospice, 309 Main St., PO Box 1590, Norwich, VT 05055 or to St. Edwards Church, c/o Rev. Kevin Rooney, 23 Vine St., Northfield, VT 05663.

I was saddened by news of the lost of an old friend and will morn this lost with his family and friends.
