Barb Farley

Barbara (Barb) Ellis Farley of Longmont CO passed away February 17, 2021 of neuroendocrine carcinoid cancer. Barb leaves behind her husband of 29 years, John T Farley, her three adult children Rich Ellis of Firestone CO, Stacy Ellis of Frederick CO, Ryan Ellis of Perrysburg OH and 7 grandchildren. Barb spent her final days with her husband, children and longtime friend, Lory Ohs of Berthoud. Barb is also survived by her parents Frank & Fran Smith of Broomfield CO (previously Boulder), four brothers and two sisters. Barb graduated from Boulder's Fairview High School in 1971. She and Bob Ellis married in 1972 and together raised Rich, Stacy & Ryan. Barb worked for IBM and Kodak while raising her family and later at Home Depot until diagnosed with metastatic cancer; she fought a long tough battle with incredible strength, dignity and optimism. Barb loved being outdoors. She enjoyed camping at RMNP, Carter Lake, Zion NP and Moab. She often painted acrylic or watercolor landscapes while at camp. Barb also enjoyed gardening, quilting, sewing, golfing, visiting with her grandchildren and watching them play sports. Her creativity was expansive and she shared her creations in the form of loving gifts for her grandchildren, family and friends. Barb was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend who is greatly missed.
