Dale Ballard

Philip Dale Ballard went home to be with his Lord on May 28, 2014. Dale was born on September 29, 1939 in Loveland, Colorado to Philip F. and Una H. Ballard. He grew up in Northern Colorado and became an avid outdoorsman who loved fishing, hunting, and especially camping in the mountains. He graduated from LaPorte High School in 1957. Following graduation, Dale proudly served his country as an Electrician's Mate in the US Navy from October 30, 1958 to November 28, 1962. He married the love of his life, Doris F. Ballard, on June 17, 1960 in Longmont, Colorado. He was employed by IBM for 36 years. In 1999, he retired and moved to Las Cruces, New Mexico. He was a committed Christian husband and father who delighted in serving others for many years. While in Longmont, Dale served in numerous ministries with Calvary Baptist Church. He had a passion for woodwork and crafted many items for close family members. He is survived by his loving wife, Doris F. Ballard of Las Cruces, New Mexico and his three sons and their wives; Gary and Michelle Ballard of Longmont, Colorado, Mike and Faith Ballard of Fort Riley, Kansas, and Wayne and Jenda Ballard of Chino Valley, Arizona. He is survived by nine grandchildren and four great-grandchildren as well as three sisters and one brother. A celebration memorial service is scheduled for June 6, 2014 at Calvary Baptist Church in Longmont at 2pm. In lieu of flowers, donations in honor of his life can be made to Mesilla Valley Hospice Foundation, in Las Cruces, New Mexico or to a charity of your choice.
