Maureen Einert Obituary

Maureen Einert was born to Robert William McKelvey and Mavis Roubal McKelvey in Madison, Wisconsin. She received her degree in Landscape Architecture from Utah State University and worked professionally for the City of Boulder for over 30 years as a Landscape Architect, and as a Parks Planner designing parks for the City of Boulder. Maureen married Robert Norman Spitzer on May 12, 1981 and together gave birth to their son, William Robert Spitzer in Fort Collins Colorado. After Robert Spitzer graduated with a Civil Engineering degree from Colorado State University, they bought a house in Longmont, Colorado where they lived until Robert Spitzer passed away on November 11, 2002. On June 15, 2009, Maureen Spitzer married Robert William Einert, who had received a Chemical Engineering degree from the University of Colorado. They continued to live in Longmont until they moved to Boulder in December of 2015 to care for Robert Einert's ailing father. After her retirement in 2009, Maureen went back to her first love as an artist and spent many hours creating pottery pieces which she enjoyed very much. Maureen also loved to take part in outdoor activities and went on many hiking trips, backpacking trips, and day hikes in Colorado, New Mexico, Utah, and Kauai. Maureen is survived by her husband, Robert Einert, her son, William Spitzer, her father, Robert McKelvey, and her brother Kevin McKelvey. Maureen was a loving wife and a devoted mother who put family first as a priority in her life. A Memorial Service for Maureen Einert will be held at the United Church of Christ, located at 1500 9th Street in Longmont, CO on Saturday, January 19 at 10:00 A.M. in the morning.
