Sandra Brant Obituary

Sandra Brant of Longmont, Colorado died in her sleep. Sandra was born in Shanksville, PA. She grew up in Pennsylvania, New Jersey and Massachusetts as the family moved along with her father's job relocations. She attended Glassboro State Teachers' College in New Jersey, and upon graduation began teaching elementary school classes in Massachusetts. Sandra was a cheerleader in high school and college. A brief marriage took her to northern Arizona where she worked for, and learned to ski at, the Snow Bowl near Flagstaff. Afterwards Sandra moved to Chicago and took a job with the Quaker Oats Company. Other than a couple of years working in Colorado in the 1980's, she lived in the Chicago area until retirement from the Quaker Oats Company (now part of PepsiCo). She then moved to Colorado in 2013 to be near family. Sandra loved cooking, reading, birding, and knitting. She was a supporter of several environmental and conservation groups, especially those concerned with bird conservation. Sandra was the informal family historian. She spent significant time researching, and took trips to document, the family tree. Sandra was active with the Longmont Senior Center, where she attended events and developed strong friendships. She also maintained and treasured friendships from her years at Quaker Oats. She was pre-deceased in death by her parents Lake Brant (Boulder, CO) and Mary Baltzer (Clearwater, FL). She is survived by her: brother Ronald Brant (Colorado Springs); brother Stephen Brant and sister-in-law Annette Brant (Boulder, CO); nephew Lake Brant (Denver, CO), and niece Corning Brant (Melrose, MA). She will be missed by friends and family alike. A memorial for Sandra will be held at the Longmont Senior Center, from 5:00pm - 6:00pm on Friday February 3, 2023. In lieu of flowers, Sandra would certainly appreciate donations in her name to the bird conservation organization of your choice.
