Steven Symes Obituary

Steven Clayton Symes, 57 of Fort Collins died June 13, 2016. He was born on November 7, 1958 at St. Catherine Hospital in Garden City, Kansas to Raymond and Rosa (Mitchell) Symes. When Steven was a baby, he moved with his family to Boulder, Colorado and later attended Niwot High School. After high school, he entered the Army where he specialized in Atomic Demolition Munitions for two years and eight months. He was educated in the Army as a Combat Engineer and earned his Sharpshooter and Hand Grenade Badges. He retired with an Honorable Discharge on April, 2, 1980. Though Steven never married, he enjoyed living in Berthoud, Colorado, near Carter Lake and later Windsor, Colorado. He is survived by his sisters, Valerie Manzanares of Littleton, Colorado and Debbie Weeks of Longmont, Colorado and their children and grandchildren as well as his friends Dick Ross, Kay Carithers, Mike Reagon and Peggy Haller. Funeral services and Steven's burial will be held privately at Foothills Garden of Memory, Longmont, Colorado. Please visit www.goesfuneralcare.com to leave condolences and share memories.
