When I think back to high school, Bill Eyl is one of my teachers who truly had a positive impact on me as a person. He held his students accountable, but always made sure they had the resources and guidance to succeed in the classroom and later in life. I still recall shoveling rock at his house to earn a few bucks and countless days enjoying learning in his classroom. I still have a copy of the college recommendation letter he wrote for me. When I read that letter, I can still remember Mr Eyl handing it to me and wishing me luck.
Mr Eyl, you made a difference in this world and you will be missed.

One of the best parts of high school was Mr. Eyl taking a bunch of us in his van to local rivers every month to collect and test water samples. It was doing "real" science and learning outside the classroom and such a fun time. He had high expectations of us as students and humans, but also took on the responsibility to help get us there. He was a wonderful man and his students are all better for having him our lives.

A delightful, brilliant man who came to my aid for my parrot and Senegal. Thank you Bill, may your family find peace and love.

I'm incredibly saddened to hear the news of Mr. Eyl's passing; the world lost an amazing person. Although Mr. Eyl was a small man, he was larger than life. He exuded confidence and demanded respect. If you fell asleep in his class, he would cause a minor earthquake by slamming his cane on a desk. He was old school, but if you showed him respect, he was one of the most caring and compassionate individuals you'd ever meet. I am fortunate and thankful to have known Mr. Eyl - I am a better person because of him. I will miss him dearly.

Wow! So many memories of such a great Human Being I wish I could share them all. I first met Bill when I was in 2nd grade at one of his dog classes. He used to get on me for sliding down the banister in the gym. I never got the opportunity to have him teach me in school, but I would visit him a bunch. I also saw him a lot when I worked for the City of Longmont or when he was teaching our Pup. We lost one of the greats and Heaven has found himself a great man.

Mr Eyl was the most amazing teacher. He truly prepped his students to succeed in college level science courses and he is the reason I loved science so much. What a legacy he created. Sending so much love and good memories to his family

You have my sincere sympathy. Not only did Bill shape the world of science for my daughters at LHS but he helped us train our family dog. He was a beautiful, gentle soul. Bill is fondly remembered in our family. I´m so sorry for your loss.

Mrs. Eyl, Alex and I were just talking about you and Mr. Eyl this weekend. We love you both so much and you both truly shaped our lives in high school. Thank you both for being such wonderful educators and for caring so much about all of us.
