Hattie Whitmire Obituary
She was born May 18, 1935, to the late Kenley Townsend and Mime Mulkey Townsend. In her fulfilling life, gardening was her joy in life, as well as her love to dance. She loved being with her neighbor's children, spending time with her grandchildren and also her beloved cats.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by daughter, Patsy Henderson; brother, Doc Sanford; along with her grandsons, Heath Wimpey and Robert Denson Jr.
Those left to cherish her memory include husband, Leeroy Whitmire; daughters, Betty Hambrick, Yvonne (Danny) Harbour, all of Newnan and Yvette (Robert) Denson, of Jackson; sons, Kevin (Michelle) Wimpey, Keith (Lauren) Wimpey, Kyle Wimpey, all of Newnan, Eric Wimpey, of Grantville and Evan (Tia) Whitmire, of Franklin; along with her grandchildren, various nieces, nephews and extended family.
Funeral services were held Thursday, Jan. 22, at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Dustin Denson in the chapel of Bernhardt Funeral Home in Ellijay. Burial followed at Ellijay City Cemetery.
Arrangements entrusted to Bernhardt Funeral Home, Ellijay.
