Malcolm Creek Obituary

Malcolm A. Creek, 83, of Ellijay, formerly of Atlanta, passed away peacefully Wednesday, Aug. 20, 2025.

He was born May 7, 1942, in Atlanta, to the late Malcolm A. Creek and Carrie Lipham Creek.

He grew up in the Sylvan Hills area of Atlanta, where he formed lifelong friendships and lasting memories. After graduating high school, he attended the Georgia Institute of Technology, where he was a proud member of the Phi Beta Kappa fraternity.

With a degree in electrical engineering, he dedicated his career to the field of aviation, where his expertise and commitment were widely respected. His contributions left a lasting impression with all who knew him.

He was known for his remarkable ability to repair just about anything and his enduring love of tackling challenges that needed to be fixed.

His dedication and inventive spirit touched the lives of many.

He is preceded in death by parents and grandson, Michael E. Sotelo Jr.

He is survived by wife, Marilyn Creek; daughters, Lori Creek and Dana Iacono; grandsons, Joel (Elizabeth) Sotelo, Nicolas (McKenzie) Sotelo and Jake (Barbara) Iacono; two great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Kathy Gardner; and nephew, Brian Gardner.

Funeral services were held Saturday, Aug. 23, 2025, at 3 p.m. in the chapel of Bernhardt Funeral Home with the Rev. Glenn Arnold officiating.

Private interment will follow in Westview Cemetery in Atlanta.

Bernhardt Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
