Adam Layne Obituary

LAYNE, Adam Konstantin, left this earth on Aug 22, 2023. He was born in Krasnoyarsk, Siberia, Russia on Sept 16, 2003 and became a U.S. Citizen when he was adopted at age 2, along with his biological sister Ellie, who was 3. As a child he loved to track Santa who always arrived in Russia 11 hours before arriving in Virginia. Adam was quite the conversationalist with both teachers and employers, and he used this talent and his handyman skills (learned from his grandpa - Dedushka) to become the youngest Regional Maintenance Technician at a local apartment complex. He loved and owned both dogs and cats and he talked to his mother every day. He loved the outdoors, trips to Cherry Grove Beach, SC with his family, and hiking the Appalachian Trail with his father.

He was compassionate, loving wholly and freely. His artistic talent is represented with a piece of his artwork on display in the halls of The Georgetown School. The art piece motto:

Dream is the wish your heart makes

Faith is the light that shows the way

Hope is the dream that awakens the soul

fully embodies the kind and sensitive soul that was Adam. He was most proud of being a father to his son, Wesley K. Layne, and of completing his training to become a volunteer firefighter. Adam, you left us too soon, but you are now forever at peace. We'll see you on the other side.

A private service is planned for a later date. In lieu of flowers please make a donation to the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI.org) or the Richmond SPCA (richmondspca.org).

I am writing this in hopes that memories will help overcome grief. Adam was such a quick witted, funny young man. I still think of him as an elementary student. Please know you all are in my heart and prayers.
