Alice Boone Obituary

Alice Clement Boone

August 18, 1938 - June 19, 2025

Alice Clement Boone, born in Madison, Ga., on August 18, 1938, passed away peacefully on June 19, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. She was the cherished daughter of Agnes and Blanton Clement.

Alice graduated from Jefferson Senior High School and went on to attend The University of Richmond, where she majored in Biology. While at Richmond, she was a varsity cheerleader and was honored as both May Queen and Homecoming Queen. It was there that she met the love of her life, Charles "Chuck" Stanley Boone. The two were married in 1960 and shared a devoted partnership for over six decades.

Together, they raised two children, Kimberly Anne and Charles Stanley Jr., both proud graduates of The University of Richmond. Alice was a deeply loving and involved mother and grandmother. She is survived by her husband, Chuck; her children, Kimberly and Charles Jr. (Catherine); and her beloved grandchildren, Matthew David (son of Kimberly), and Braxton Charles and Brooklyn Catherine (children of Charles Jr. and Catherine).

Alice is also survived by her siblings, Blanton Clement Jr. (Henrietta), Julianne Holladay, Carolyn Thompson (David), and Shirley Clement. She was preceded in death by her parents.

A passionate and inspiring middle school Science teacher, Alice dedicated her life to education and nurturing young minds. Outside the classroom, she found great joy in interior decorating, especially during Christmas, gardening, reading, and spending time with her family and pets. Her warmth, grace, and inner strength were evident to all who knew her. She faced her cancer diagnosis with the same dignity, resilience, and beauty that defined her life.

A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on June 26th at the Cannon Memorial Chapel at The University of Richmond, followed by a reception.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in Alice's memory to the Emily Couric Clinical Cancer Center at UVA or to an animal shelter of your choice.

Dearest Chuck, the Ralston family only just heard of your sweet wife´s passing after her funeral as Bo saw Johnny Fleet at the grocery store and he told him. We are so sorry we didn´t know as we all would certainly have been there to support you and your family. We will all be at the river this weekend and will discuss all of us getting together and taking you out to dinner to celebrate her life with you. Much love and deepest sympathies.
