Allen Heath Rogers Jr.

ROGERS, Allen Heath Jr., 82, of Richmond, died peacefully on Saturday, March 16, 2024, with his daughters at his side. He was preceded in death by his parents, infant sister, Sharon Lynette, and great-grandson, Caleb. He is survived by his daughters, Terry Shifflett and Elaine Epps; grandchildren, Brandon, Ryan, and Holly Peck; along with four great-grandchildren. He loved to reminisce about his years as quarterback at Hermitage High School under Chester Fritz. He graduated in 1959 and began his life's work with cars. He worked with a few dealerships before landing at Royal Oldsmobile, where he remained for many years until he retired. Allen always had a to-do list. It was hard for him when he had to slow down. Toward the end of his life, when his health started to decline, he was blessed with a caretaker that became part of our family. They made it possible for him to live out his life at home as he wanted to do.

His family will receive friends from 12 to 1 p.m. Monday, March 25, 2024, at Bliley's – Staples Mill, 8510, Staples Mill Rd., where a funeral ceremony will begin at 1 p.m. Interment will follow in Emmanuel Episcopal Church Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Lakeside Volunteer Rescue Squad.
