Allen W. "Ben" Saunders Sr.

SAUNDERS, Allen W. "Ben", Sr., 80, of Ashland, went to be with the Lord Tuesday January 19, 2021. He was preceded in death by his parents, Henry L. and Mable K. Saunders; sister, Goldie M. Saunders; brothers, William E. Saunders, Charles P. Saunders, Henry M. Saunders. Ben was a former employee of Miller & Rhoads; he retired from Stone's Office Equipment. He was a U.S. Army veteran, a member of the Ashland Masonic Lodge #168 and a member of Forest Grove United Methodist Church. He is survived by his wife, Lucille Saunders; sons, Allen W. Saunders Jr., Bernard D. Saunders; brother, Joseph F. Saunders (Jane); sister-in-law, Anna Saunders. The family will receive friends 1 to 3 p.m. Monday, at Nelsen Funeral Home-Reid Chapel, 412 S. Washington Hwy., where a Masonic service will follow at 3 p.m. His funeral service will be 2 p.m. Tuesday, at the funeral home. Interment will follow in Woodland Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or the American Red Cross.
