Andrew Hatcher Cole, Jr. went to be with his Lord and Savior on February 2, 2026. He was preceded in death by his wife of 63 years, Betty Main Cole and his sister, Elsa Gray Thompson of Ashland. He is survived by his children, Andrew Hatcher Cole, III (Robin), Bryon Paul Cole (Diane), Nancy Cole Cardounel (Humberto), and Cindy Cole Bain (Chip). He is also survived by his grandchildren, Lindsay Krodel (Josh), Rachel Cole, Landon Cole (Emily), Judson Cole (Brianna), Sarah Cole, Hailey Hudson (Ryan), Katie Mueller (Alex), Andrew Cardounel (Grace), Hatcher Bain (Laura), Carson Bain, Jacob Bain (Tina), and Jessica Elmore (Jon); and many great-grandchildren. Mr. Cole was an active member of Derbyshire Baptist Church for 50 years where he was a member of the Koinonia Bible Class and the Footprints class. He graduated from Henry Clay High School in Ashland, Virginia and attended Richmond Business School in Richmond, Virginia. He was an Air Force veteran and retired from Sherwin Williams after 60+ years.
Services will be held at Derbyshire Baptist Church 8800 Derbyshire Road, Henrico, Va., at 1 p.m. in the Copeland Sanctuary on Wednesday, February 11, 2026, with a reception to follow in Bryant Hall. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Derbyshire Baptist Church.
