Anne McCormick Obituary

Anne (Nancy) Nottingham Fray McCormick, 86, of Halifax, died on December 10, 2024 in Cary, North Carolina.
A native of Virginia's Eastern Shore, she was the daughter of William Clore Fray and Ann Tankard Fray, and was married to Charles L McCormick III, who survives.
Educated in the public schools of Northampton County, she was a graduate of Mary Baldwin College and taught in the Virginia public schools of Richmond, Martinsville, and Halifax County.
Active in the Episcopal Church, she was a member of St. John's Halifax, where she served on the Vestry, as well as on the Standing Committee of the Diocese of Southern Virginia.
Possessing not only a great sense of taste but also a warm welcoming demeanor, Nancy was an active lifelong community volunteer who led by example in numerous organizations, all the while demonstrating to her family and friends the importance of giving back to one's community.
In addition to her husband, Nancy is survived by two sons, Charles Lucas McCormick IV (Summer), of Raleigh, North Carolina, and William Fray McCormick (Margaret), of Columbus, Georgia. Also surviving are three grandchildren, Mary Bradley McCormick of Chesnee, South Carolina;
William Fray McCormick, Jr., of Columbus, Georgia; and Charles Lucas McCormick V, of Raleigh, North Carolina, as well as a brother, William Clore Fray, Jr., of Winter Park, Florida.
Services will be held at St. John's Episcopal Church, Halifax, Virginia, on Saturday, December 14, 2024 at 2 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to St. John's Episcopal Church, Halifax, Virginia, or the charity of your choice.
