I was fishing with his son, Vince, one weekend... after a fun day we decided to stop by and visit his parents...Tony asked me to join them for dinner..I responded " are you sure you have enough?".....I can´t begin to tell you the lesson I learned that day! The short of it is: the Lanasa always have enough and you´d be crazy not to accept Tony´s invitation since it´s always the best meal in town...I miss him ... and I´m blessed to have his son and family as close friend s....,Winston Read

To: The Lanasa Family, I´m so sorry for your loss. Tony was a very nice man. I knew him for 15 years, he use to come in the store every morning on his way to work and get his coffee and news paper, he was always smiling ,talking, a very pleasant man, now he has his angel wings, no worries, no pains, nothing but love, joy, happiness, with god and the rest of his family and friends until the rest of his family meet back up with him again. RIP Tony we love you!!!!

Our family will always remember Tony. Some of my first thoughts were our family's time together at the river. Do you remember at the end of a hand playing Setback, Pops always would say "Give me 20 points!" whether he had any or not. Tony would pull the kids behind the boat. He and my husband, Walker, shared many days working together. Being in the office was a real treat for me. He will be missed by all who knew him.

Tony Lanasa was the kindest and most giving man I have ever known! He was not only a personal friend, but was instrumental in the success of the Virginia Union University basketball team. He helped so many young men by allowing them to work at his business, even if he didn't need the help. He was always the first to donate when our team was in need of something. He was a father figure to many and will be greatly missed, but never forgotten!

It is with condolences to the entire family that I sadly share this note. My father, Chester Hunter, worked for Tony for many years. Just last year, it was laid on my heart to stop by and say hi to him. He was in the kitchen cooking lunch for the employees. That is the spirit of the man I knew. God bless his family and may he rest in eternal peace, The Hunter Family, Elnora(Chester's wife), Pat, Sonny and Cindy.
