To the family of LT.Gen. Arthur Gregg. My deepest sincere sympathy to you all. I thank him for his service in the US Army. I was never in the military due to a birth defect that left me paralyzed from the waist down confined to a wheelchair. My younger Brother was in the US Navy from 1990 until 1996. He served in Operation Dessert Storm in Iraq in 1991. LT. Gen. Gregg will be missed very much by everyone who knew him and loved him. May God Bless you all. Sincerely, David Shaw Richmond, Virginia.

What an honor to have met you. I wished I could have seen you and spent some more time with you. I was recently thinking about you and wanted to introduce my wife to you, I was a bit too late. Thank you for your service and thank you for being a role model to all of us. You will be remembered and missed by many, I am one of them.

My heartfelt condolences to the family of one of the kindest people I knew. I met LTG Gregg a few years ago at a friends house and you would have thought we knew each other a lifetime. He welcomed all into his circle and he had the gift to make you feel like a kindred spirit. What a special person and I admired the fact that long after he retired, when the military called he was there to take the call. He was definitely a Soldiers, Soldier who carried himself with the same grace, he witnessed as a kid. The World has lost a remarkable Angel. I am proud that his Legacy will live on through Fort Gregg-Adams because his exemplary service to this Country should NEVER BE FORGOTTEN. Rest in Peace my friend...God-Speed!

It was my privilege to serve as a company commander in then Lt Col Gregg's battalion in Cam Ranh Bay, Vietnam. Once you met and interacted with him you immediately knew that that this was a man destined for greatness. It comes as no surprise to me that he reached three star rank and had a installation named in part for him. My contact with him is the highlight of my active duty career. My heartfelt condolences to the Gregg family.

I went to Vietnam with General Gregg as a 2LT and a member of his battalion staff. The battalion grew from several hundred soldiers to almost 4,000. His staff size never increased. That is a tribute to his leadership. Our paths crossed several times in my Army career and he was always the kind and professional leader he was when I first served under his command. May God rest his soul and give us more leaders cast from the same mold as General Gregg.

General Gregg was a good friend and mentor as board member of Excelsior University in Albany NY. As chair he supported my nomination and my ongoing work at the university for over 15 years. My husband and I were honored to attend the renaming of Fort Lee in his honor. He was a great leader and a wonderful man. I am sure he will be missed by friends and colleagues but especially by his family. Mary O'Connor and Charles King
