Audrey DeMasters Obituary

DEMASTERS, Mrs. Audrey Evans, age 85, went home to be with the Lord on February 3, 2023. Audrey was born in Richmond, Virginia on September 5, 1937 to the late Joshua Z. and Hattie Lee Evans. She was preceded in death by her son, Charles "Chuck" DeMasters, her grandson, Joshua; her brother, Eddie Evans; and her sister, Virginia Hoover. Audrey is survived by her devoted and loving husband of 69 years, Charles Lewis DeMasters; and her sister, Mary Evans Lane; and a host of nieces and nephews and other relatives.

Audrey was a woman of faith who loved Jesus, her family and friends. She was always there to help a friend in need. Since her husband's job included relocating, she had many friends in various states where they resided. Audrey had a great love of animals. Throughout her life, she had several dogs, cats and birds who were always treated like family. She had a love of a variety of music and always dreamed of being a performer like Dolly Parton. Once she attended the Grand Ole Opry and actually got up on stage and sang. She loved watching football and classic movies with her husband. A private memorial service will be held on March 18 for immediate family and friends. Donations may be made to the American Heart Association, or to any animal charity.
