August Samek Obituary
As a young man Gus loved to go to Grateful Dead shows. If you went to visit his house you would get a chance to listen to the Dead, dance, and have some fun.
Gus was passionate about his lifelong career with Republic National Distributing Company where he won many awards. His favorite account where he worked for over 30 years was the Carytown Safeway, then Hannaford, and now Kroger. Some there would say he is a legend.
We will miss going to Kroger and looking down the aisle to see Gus. He will be there in spirit.
If you stop by the Carytown Kroger don't forget to say Hi to Gus, he'll hear you for sure.
His friends used to ask Gus what he wanted when he wasn't feeling well and he would say "Prayers." Now Gus is in heaven with his dear mom Mrs. Agnes Kernan Samek and his father Mr. Theodore L. Samek.
There will be a ceremony honoring the life of Gus at Bliley's Funeral Home at 3801 Augusta Ave in Richmond, Virginia on Thursday December 7, 2023 from 6:00 pm to 7:00 pm. and all are welcome to attend.
