Barbara Barker Obituary
Barbara made Rockville her home for many years and was known for her caring spirit and the deep love she had for animals and most of all her family. A dedicated member of St. Matthew's United Methodist Church for over 70 years, she faithfully served her church community and found great joy in her faith and fellowship. She especially cherished time spent with her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren, and her presence will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
Barbara was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, Thomas W. Barker, her mother, Ida Belle Wiltshire Roberson, and her father, Claude Roberson.
She is survived by her daughter, Kathy B. Hutchinson (Harvey); her daughter, Donna L. Boyer (Scott); her grandson, Cole Leadbetter (Ashlee); and her granddaughter, Katie Wooten (Rob). She is also survived by her great grandchildren, Evan Leadbetter, Lydia Leadbetter, and Scarlett Wooten.
A funeral service will be held at St. Matthew's United Methodist Church, 1706 St Matthews Ln, Richmond, VA 23233, on Wednesday, March 18, at 11:00 a.m. Visitation will be held at Bennett Funeral Home, 11020 W Broad St, Glen Allen, VA 23060, on Tuesday, March 17, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to Goochland County Fire & Rescue Station 3 or to St. Matthew's United Methodist Church Food Pantry.
The family extends their heartfelt thanks to all who have offered their care, kindness, and support during this time.

I live in Norfolk now but I subscribe to the Richmond obituaries and was so sad to see that Barbara passed away. Kathy & Donna, I remember you both so well and your lovely parents. What a good Christian example they were. You got your mom's beauty, grace and kindness. She was always so sweet! You may not remember me... I was Susan Fair and am Wanda & Derek's mom.
