Barbara Black Obituary

BLACK, Barbara Flournoy, 65, of Glen Allen, died on December 15, 2023, lovingly surrounded by family. She was preceded in death by her mother, Charlotte Henry Flournoy, and brothers, Stanhope Emery "Chippy" Flournoy, Jr. and Robert Lee "Bobby" Flournoy. She is survived by her loving husband of 45 years, John M. Black, daughter Jennifer B. Dodson (Charlie), son John Michael Black, Jr. (Shannon), grandchildren Addison and Emma Dodson, Jefferson, Emery, and Jameson Black, and her father, Stanhope Emery Flournoy, Sr. She also leaves behind many close friends and family, nieces, nephews, and her dearest friend Betty Jean Kirksey. She loved spending time at the beach, river, or a really good back porch, and she will be missed beyond measure by so many.

A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. on December 29, 2023 at Greenwood Memorial Gardens, 12609 Patterson Ave, Richmond, VA 23238. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of your choice in memory of Barbara.
