Ms. Robertson, your husband will be really missed by all. My grandmother is deceased now, she was the center of our family and loved Rev. I got to meet this special man in 1996 and fell in love with his actions on the pulpit and his love for GOD. It's strange things we as young adults remember but I know his feet was planted in GOD's hand. I remember when he would get excited he would start to kick backward as if he was an old bull getting ready to rave things up. Please know that we thank you for sharing Rev. with us, and knowing that you was his Sugar.

Dear Mrs. Delores Robertson,
There are no words that can heal your broken heart. The loss of your husband and life-long mate is definitely the most heart breaking thing you will ever have to live through. I know because I have been there. You have within your heart the greatest healer and comforter the world knows. Whenever your heart is heavy, as I'm sure it is now, remember only the good memories and the time you had with your husband. God will take care of the rest and he will always be there to comfort you. Pray for strength , pick up the phone and share with the many of us who care for you. We are all here if it is only to listen and to let you know how much we care. How can we not care for such a sweet person as we know you to be? God will heal your sorrow and bring peace to your heart. You are strong and you will survive. Much Love and Affection!

February 28, 2011
To my dearest family, some things I'd like to say...
but first of all, to let you know, that I arrived okay.
I'm writing this from heaven. Here I dwell with God above.
Here, there's no more tears of sadness; here is just eternal love.
Please do not be unhappy just because I'm out of sight.
Remember that I'm with you every morning, noon and night.
That day I had to leave you when my life on earth was through,
God picked me up and hugged me and He said, "I welcome you."
It's good to have you back again; you were missed while you were gone.
As for your dearest family, they'll be here later on.
I need you here badly; you're part of my plan.
There's so much that we have to do, to help our mortal man.
God gave me a list of things, that he wished for me to do.
And foremost on the list, was to watch and care for you.
And when you lie in bed at night, the day's chores put to flight.
God and I are closest to you....in the middle of the night.
When you think of my life on earth, and all those loving years
because you are only human, they are bound to bring you tears.
But do not be afraid to cry; it does relieve the pain.
Remember there would be no flowers, unless there was some rain.
I wish that I could tell you all that God has planned.
But if I were to tell you, you wouldn't understand.
But one thing is for certain, though my life on earth is o'er.
I'm closer to you now, than I ever was before.
There are many rocky roads ahead of you and many hills to climb;
but together we can do it by taking one day at a time.
It was always my philosophy and I'd like it for you too...
that as you give unto the world, the world will give to you.
If you can help somebody who's in sorrow and pain,
then you can say to God at night......"My day was not in vain."
And now I am contented....that my life has been worthwhile,
knowing as I passed along the way, I made somebody smile.
So if you meet somebody who is sad and feeling low,
just lend a hand to pick him up, as on your way you go.
When you're walking down the street, and you've got me on your mind;
I'm walking in your footsteps only half a step behind.
And when it's time for you to go.... from that body to be free,
remember you're not going.....you're coming here to me.

He has joined the cloud of witnesses to cheer us on to finish our assignment on earth by being and doing the best we can in Christ Jesus. Dear Mrs. Robertson,
There are no words to explain how you are feeling. Words, however kind, can't mend your heartache but those of us who care and share in your loss, wish you comfort and peace of mind. Please know that many are lifting you up in prayer and through Him that gives all, will give you the strength to find peace.
May God hold you in the palm of His hands during this time of loss. Continue to find your strength and courage in Him, as He will continue to sustain you with His grace and mercy. May you find comfort in the One who is able to give the oil of joy for mourning, and the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness.
Please find consolation in these words:
"Look to the hills from whence cometh your help" and always remember that God is and will forever be the Captain who will guide your ship through this time of turmoil in your life and lead you beside the still waters and restore you whole!
Again, my family and I extend deepest and heartfelt sympathy.
Stay lifted up!

I have always known of Dr. Benjamin Robertson Sr. because his church was only a few blocks from where I grew up. I had the pleasure of meeting him personally many years later when I became an adult and invited as a guest to the Woman's Day service at Cedar Street Church. As I had a arrived early no one was there to greet me and let me know where I needed to be. I ran in to Dr Robertson by chance and he was so kind and accomodating and even though we had never met before he made me feel right at home and took it upon himself personally to make sure I got to whom I needed to see. I had the honor and privilege of spending my most of childhood and teen years as Dr. Robertson's next door neighbor on Strath Road in Varina. On numerous occasions he would arrive home from work, and find me playing basketball in his yard with his son Benjamin Junior or by myself. I remember that he would take the time to impart a few words of wisdom. I did not understand the value of those words at the time, but as I got older, I truly realized how privileged I was to have spent my formative years in the midst of this great man. Dr. Robertson set the standard for me and many others emulate. Dr. Robertson and his beautiful wife were royalty to behold. I am saddened by his passing, but I celebrate his life and I am happy that I had the opportunity to admire greatness in the truest since of its meaning. His time on earth was of great purpose, and I am so thankful that my life is a beneficiary of his good deeds. God Bless

To Dr. Dolores "Sugar" Robertson, the CSBCOG, & the family of the late Dr. B.W. Robertson, Sr.
Dear Dr. Robertson:
We greet you in the name of Him who orders our steps and meets us with mercy. We greet you in the name of Him who said, "I am the Way, the Truth, and the Life."
Pastor James and the entire Trinity Family are extending to the family of the Late Dr. Benjamin William Robertson, Sr., our deepest and most profound sympathy in this bereaved hour.
Though solemn and saddened by this loss, each of us has been touched by this "giant amongst men".
Therefore, "let not your heart be troubled, ye believe in God, believe also in me. In my Father's house are many mansions, if it were not, I would have told you..."
We commend to you the God of the universe who is able and willing to heal all of your sorrow. Trust in the Lord and be of good courage, for He shall strengthen you in the days ahead. Trust in the Lord!
With deepest Sympathy,
A. Lincoln James, Jr. & the Trinity Baptist Church Family

Robertson Family,
Words can't express the joy that I feel to know that your loved one has won his awsome race down here on earth, and "HEAVEN, HEAVEN, I AM HERE."
I know that it's difficult to not experience some sadness, however we must keep in mind that Dr.Benjamin W. Robertson Sr. is now in his "Harvest Time".

To Dr. Delores Robertson, The Robertson Family, and Our Cedar Street Family:
Our hearts are sadden at the loss of our former Pastor, but we still rejoice in the Lord knowing that Dr. Robertson has made it up yonder. He baptized the three of us and most of my extended family. He was such a loving, kind man who was a giant in the ministry. Dr. Robertson helped so many people (including us) along the way and most never knew the magnitude of his generosity. We thank God that we were able to know him on so many levels.
We pray that his smile, laughter, and genuine love for God's people will remain a constant memory in your hearts and minds. On Sunday, Dr. Robertson fought a good fight, finished his raced, and walked up the Kings highway to hear the Lord say "Enter into my joy, servant, well done!"
We love you both and please know that we are here if you need us. God bless you and comfort you today and always.
With Love in Christ,
The Smith Family (Antoinette, Natasha, and Josh)
