Dear Family,
I want to express my heartfelt condolences on the loss of your beloved one. Brenda and I attended Virginia State University many years ago, where we both majored in Library Science. Our teachers often referred to us as the biblical sisters, Martha and Mary.
I know this is a difficult time for you, and you are in my thoughts and prayers. Please cherish the beautiful memories and try to find moments to smile.
With sorrow and sympathy,
Vonita White Foster

Love and prayers to Brenda's family in this difficult time. I knew Brenda as a Title 1 reading teacher at Byrd Elementary School. She loved children and wanted to do everything she could to help them. I felt her love as well. We shared many good times talking over new instructional strategies. What I remember most though, is her smile and laugh. She will be missed.

My sincere condolences to the Allen family. Your mother was the sweetest and dearest librarian with a heart for her students. I spent so much time in tge library with her learning wisdom not just from the books from her heart. I know you will miss her, but know her life and legacy lives on in not just your family bit so many of the students she touched.

To the family of Brenda Allen:
I loved Brenda! I have such good memories of helping her in the library. She gave me a surprise party for my 38th birthday. I had never had anyone do that before, and I will never forget. Even though I was there to help, most of my time spent there was usually laughing about something. And she knew not to trust me with contact paper! Michael, I am asking God tonight to send comfort to y´all as I know this has torn a huge hole in your hearts.

I met Brenda in 1978 when I started teaching at Goochland High School. She was the librarian and was most helpful to me as an English teacher. We became good friends and we enjoyed laughing together and having lunch together when we could. She loved the students and helped them with their problems. She and Michael were wonderful parents who raised their three sons with love and loving discipline. They instilled great values in them. I was lucky enough to teach Marcus, Marc Curtis, and Marquis. They were the kind of students every teacher dreams of teaching.
I have wonderful memories of Brenda and her sons. I pray that God will comfort them and Michael as they grieve her passing.

Mrs. Brenda was not only family, she was all of our (my generation in Goochland) school librarian. She was tough and she dint play with us even though we tried! She loved us all and always made it a point to let us know we all had a future. To Michael, Marcus, Deanna and the rest of my family, we love you and will continue to pray for your strength and comfort. The impact Mrs. Brenda had on so many is matchless.
