I met Brigitte many years ago on a James River Hikers hike. As we got to know each other, we found we had so many things in common: both of us were born in Germany, and lived at one time in CA and CO. Brigitte was so nice and she had a wonderful sense of humor. I really enjoyed getting to know her more after I retired and we started to go out to lunch together. She enjoyed her role as Event Organizer for the Bryan Park hike. She welcomed new members and since she led this hike weekly, she created a community of hikers. I will miss her and I know the Tuesday hikers will too.

I met Brigitte (Brig) in 1997 at a meet up group in Denver, CO. As an introvert I was skeptical of my place in her social circle. She pulled me in with her kindness, optimism and assuredness that even if I didn´t choose to stay in the group she would be my friend. And she was a kind, caring, fun, spunky friend. We had many things in common and would meet one on one often over the years. If it weren´t for Brig telling me of a job opportunity at her company, which I interviewed for and got, I would not have had the success that followed that career. My heart hurts of her passing. My heart goes out to the family whom she loved so deeply. I loved Brig. I feel she´ll always be with me in spirit.

I knew Brigitte in Colorado. We went to many dances together with other friends like Carolyn, Betty, and Gloria. I helped her move many times and we had a 50th birthday party for her at my house in Aurora. Last time I saw her she stopped in Durham where I had moved to, on her way back home from visiting a friend for Thanksgiving. That was probably 3 or 4 years ago.
She spoke so proudly of her family especially her 2 gorgeous granddaughters.
She will surely be missed by many.

I met Brigitte, I think in 1976, when she was hired at the insurance agency I worked for. Mike was 5 or 6 at the time. We immediately became great friends. I remember her loving to hike and she can't to several Bronco games with us. I already admired her inner strength & determination. She was fiercely independent and optimistic. She was an inspiration to me for my whole life.
