Caleb Josiah Shelby Higgins

HIGGINS, Caleb Josiah Shelby, 24, of Water View, Virginia, left his earthly body June 1, after a motorcycle accident. His paternal grandparents and maternal grandfather preceded Caleb in death. His parents, Shelby and Susan Higgins of Water View, Virginia; three sisters, Joanna Willis, Melanie McKenney and Sherry Higgins; grandmother, Eunice Lunsford; one niece, Alyssa Willis; one nephew, William McKenney III; and his best friend, Thomas J. survive him. Caleb worked as a carpenter for Virginia Area on Aging, worked in Louisiana assisting in cleanup after Hurricane Katrina, and most recently at Tides Inn in Irvington as a server. Caleb worked hard to earn his GED in 2001 and continued his education, attending Rappahannock Community College in the nursing field, making the Dean's List several times. Caleb was very active, lifting weights every day, playing soccer, running, target shooting, ground hog hunting and riding his Suzuki GXSR 600 motorcycle. A memorial service for Caleb will be Friday, June 8 at 11 a.m., and family will receive friends from 10 a.m. until time of the service in the Hermitage Baptist Church, Dragon Run Road and Hwy. 17, Church View, Va.
