Caroline Bowe Obituary

BOWE, Caroline Turner, 44, of Henrico County, passed away Tuesday, September 18, 2007. Caroline is survived by her loving husband, Stephen I. Bowe; sons, Miller and Robbie; and daughter, Mary; her parents, Myrtle Miller Turner and Hobson Turner; her brothers, Christopher and David, and by Sean Harris, all of the Richmond area, and many other dear family and devoted friends. Caroline was born and raised in Richmond, and retained strong ties with the community of Avon, North Carolina, which saw the baptism of her three young children. Caroline's love of Hollywood movies and the restaurant business came together when she became the proprietor of Bogart's Restaurant at Forest and Ridge. Her family extends deep appreciation for the compassionate care and aid extended by friends, neighbors, and the staffs of Virginia Cancer Institute and Henrico Doctors Hospital. A celebration of her life will be held among family and friends on Saturday, September 29, at Bogart's between noon and 3 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to St. John's United Methodist Church, 40336 Mcmullen Rd., Avon, N.C. 27915.

What can I say... I was not really "good" friends with Caroline but, whenever I saw her, she treated me like I was. The world is a sadder place without her. :(

I will never have a Gin and Tonic without thinking of her.

I did not know Caroline in person, I just simply knew her through 2 The Andy Griffith Show websites. Let me tell you though, we shared some good online times and became enough of a part of my life to deeply affect me when I heard the news. I've only known you for 18 months, and that was only through the internet. Upon learning of your passing, I can't believe just how much I cried over someone whom I had never met. My deepest sympathy to Caroline's family. Caroline was a wonderful person. Even while fighting cancer she was able to be a wonderful mother, wife, Cub Scout den leader and restaurant owner. She was someone who always wanted to do for others and always gave 100 percent. She will surely be missed and I consider it a blessing to have known her.

She has certainly left a hole in our hearts! Never did she talk of pity or wanting sympathy. she only gave encouragment and love to us.
Her children are dear to her, and she knew they were true gifts from God.Steve, you were her knight in shining armor. Remember her with joy and celebrate her life. That's what she would have wanted. To Caroline's family: Though I knew her as Millie on the Andy Griffith website, I know she had a real life, and to that real family, I would like to say - thank you for sharing her with us. She was an inspiration to us all in the way she lived her life, right up through the end. I knew Caroline as "Millie" on an Andy Griffith website. She amazed me with her strength and grace. I don't think I can recall a single time when she was having a "pity party" for herself-her concerns were for her family.I'm sure you all know how much she loved you.
