Carolyn Todd Obituary
Dr. Carolyn Jean Boone Todd, 70, of Midlothian, died July 7, 2024. Surviving are her husband, Melvin L. Todd, Sr.; son, Melvin L. Todd, Jr. (Jacque); daughter, Briget M. Todd; granddaughter, Judith M. Todd; seven siblings, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
Remains rest at Scott's Funeral Home, 115 E. Brookland Park Blvd., where viewing will be held Friday, July 19, from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., followed by the family receiving friends from 5 to 6 p.m., in Scott's Chapel, 116 E. Brookland Park Blvd., followed by an Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. Ivy Beyond the Wall memorial service, and where funeral services will be held Saturday, July 20, at 11 a.m., Rev. Pernell Johnson officiating. Repast immediately following funeral at Acca Shriner's Center, 1712 Bellevue Avenue, Richmond, VA 23227. A private family entombment service will be held at Dale Memorial Gardens. Live streaming and online guest book at www.scottsfuneralhome.com.

Dr. Todd frequently visited the technology store, where I used to work. I am now retired. She was always full of joy & everyone knew her. I was lucky enough to personally assist her on a few occasions. I found her to be extremely gracious & so kind to everyone. I always marveled at her bracelets. I commented on them & she would tell me about them. Such a nice, kind, full of joy lady. I´m truly sad to read about her death. I´m sad for her family & friends who will miss her so much. My condolences go out to Dr. Carolyn Boone´s Family. I´m so grateful that me and my family had the pleasure of you being my children´s pediatrician. I moved to Va in 2011 from New Jersey and had no idea what I was going to do for a pediatrician for my kids. I lucked up by finding you through a referral. Not only was she a Dr but also a friend always had the best interest for my children. Dr.Boone has so many patients but always takes time to get to know each one of her patients. She was always thorough in everything she did. Anytime I bought my children there she always made sure they got the best care. If it was something she wanted a second opinion about she would walk out the room go into her office to call her colleagues. She always took the time to know all her patients to the point I brought my daughter there not feeling well and she knew that wasn´t like my daughter and ruled out a diagnosis saving my child´s life. Dr.Boone you will truly be missed. I will miss all of our jersey talks and all the advice you always gave me and my family and we thank you. I´m proud to say you was my children´s Doctor the best they ever had. Rest in peace Dr.Boone gone but never forgotten.

I met Dr. Boone over 22 years ago at the clinic on Leigh St. She welcomed me with opened arms. She never waiver or changed from the beautiful she was. She was a Hugger and Loved to Smile. It is with great sorrow that we learned of the passing of Dr Carolyn Boone, 1980 classmate of MCV. We shared lots of joy and usual medical school struggles, but supported one another to persevere. There are people who leave footprints in your heart and Dr. Boone was one of those people. She cared for all 3 of our children, who are now grown with such love and care that we considered her family. While I am saddened to hear of her passing, I take comfort in the scripture, that says "We are confident, I say, and willing rather to be absent from the body, and to be present with the Lord.

To the Todd family. I had known her as Dr. Boone by going to Vernon J. Harris for both Leroy and Terrell Brown as their pediatrician when they were young. I love the fact that she would tell what medical needs for the children and what medicines are safe to take to treat them. Dr. Boone will truly be missed I´m 40 years old and she was my pediatrician when I was born. As well as my oldest son doctor when I had him. My condolences to the family. She was the best Pediatrician. She had my daughter from new born up until last year. She made sure she had everything that she needed. When my daughter was an infant she had to be admitted to the hospital. Everything was set and ready when we got there. Didn´t have to wait or anything. She could tell me some stories about her. He and I were stationed together at Ft Jackson South Carolina back in 1992. He and I would help his big sis out from time to time at her practice and her home over the years. She always wanted me to deep fry the fish almost every Thanksgiving. I became very close to Carolyn and her family. She is already truly missed! I was deeply saddened to hear of Dr. Boone's passing. She was my two daughters pediatrician. They are 25 and 24 now. I called her office to set up a new patient appointment for my grandson and was told the news. I have fond memories of a cheerful, bright spirited women who loved her community. I am thankful to have had her as my children's pediatrician. She was excellent in her capacity as a physician and even great with her capacity to connect. The Mason family extend supremely deep sympathy to all of Dr Boone's loved ones, family and friends.
News of her transition was not just a shock but was more like a kick in the gut.
Dr Boone was a true champion for our children and families. She fought hard for her patients and I am certain she laid a blessing upon every child her hands touched.
What I will remember most is the sparkle in her eyes when she gave her "cheeky" smile. I will remember the memories she shared about her being a foster child and how she worked/ fought hard to become a Doctor. I will remember the pride she emitted when she mentioned her family. I will remember the sound of her voice when she said to me, "....his skin looks good Mama" during one of my Son's well child visits when he was a baby about 16 years ago. LOL... she always found something to celebrate. Such a joyful soul. Nobody can fill her shies. She was definitely one of a kind and will be sorely missed.

Dr. Boone was my daughter doctor from birth until she went to college. She was very knowledgeable and took great care of her. My daughter had a small complication at birth and had to be transferred to another hospital. I was so upset because they wouldn´t let me be transferred with her. Dr. Boone saw how upset I was and said I made her eat two doughnuts. Dr. Thank for taking such great care off my daughter. You will be greatly missed. Rest in Heavenly Peace!

In 1990, our family was so very blessed to have encountered such a caring, careful, observant individual while deciding on a family pediatrician! I´m so sorry for the loss of Dr. Boone. She was not only my pediatrician and I will be 30 this year, but as well as both of my son´s pediatrician. I will truly miss her gorgeous smile. My thoughts and prayers go out to her family. The Haskins family

My family is very sad to hear of Dr Boone, she was an amazing woman. She took time with my family and boys and had a way of making you feel like part of her family. Her attention to the children in her care was untouchable. She will truly be missed. Sending prayers to her family!!

My heart dropped when I heard of this news. Dr Boone was my Dr as a child and she was all My children's pediatrician. She was like family. She was so caring, understanding and supportive when I lost my parents and son... She was a very thorough caring pediatrician. Her smile and laugh always made my day... We are going to miss you Dr Boone. We love you !!!! Rest peacefully... No more worries

DR BOONE was a wonderful person and a caring Dr to all my children but especially to my youngest Nicholas because be was born with heart problems and later developed scoliosis she took such good care of het children she will be greatly missed

My thoughts and prayers are with the family and friends of Dr Boone, she was truly a gem. Heaven has truly gained an Angel. I had the pleasure of getting to know her for at least 30 years , she was my brother´s doctor and also my daughter who is now 24. The medical field has truly lost a good one. She was such a loving and compassionate person, and you definitely could tell she loved what she did. Rest in peace , we love and will truly miss you.

Dr. Carolyn Boone was a wonderful doctor and person. Whenever Dr. Boone was called if Dr. Bennett was absent, my children received wonderful care. You will be missed.

Besides being my children's doctor for almost 20 years, she was a fantastic person. If you ever had a problem, she would listen then offer a solution. I and my children loved loved Doctor Boone . She will certainly be missed. My condolences to the family
