Charles Robb Cromar Jr.

1937 - 2022

CROMAR, Mr. Charles Robb, Jr., "Charlie," a native of Richmond, died at age 85 on October 23, 2022, in Centerville, Ohio. He will be buried on Saturday, October 29, 2022 at Westhampton Memorial Park in Richmond following a chapel service at the cemetery at 2 p.m. A graduate of Thomas Jefferson High School, Charlie attended the University of Richmond. He served four years in the U.S. Air Force and two years in the Virginia Air National Guard. He began his business career at UPACO Adhesives in Richmond and spent 35 years in the industrial adhesives industry until his retirement from Reichhold Chemicals in Research Triangle Park, N.C. in November, 1999. He held many leadership positions in various churches, among them, Chairman of the Diaconate at St. Giles' Presbyterian in Richmond, and an ordained elder at Forest Hill Presbyterian in Charlotte. His home church at his passing was South Dayton Presbyterian. In his retirement, Charlie enjoyed 14 years working part-time at Walt Disney World in Orlando. He was preceded in death by his wife of 62 years, Janice Cleaton Cromar. He is survived by a son, William, his wife, Maria Crespo de Cromar and grandchildren, Casper and Alyson in Philadelphia; a daughter, Paige Cromar Davis, her husband, Greg Davis and grandchildren, Ryan and Justin Jones in Centerville, Ohio. Family in Richmond includes nephews, Tom and Bruce Rilee; nieces, Robb Rilee and Ellen Rilee Mahoney; and numerous great-nephews and nieces.
