Charles Kennon Harrison

August 16, 1967 - May 1, 2025

Charles Kennon Harrison died on May 1, 2025, at St. Mary's Hospital in Richmond, Va., where he was born on August 16, 1967. He was preceded in death by his father, Arthur Wideman Harrison, Jr.; his aunt, Mary Kennon McDaniel; and his uncles, Charles Randolph Kennon IV and John Waller Harrison. He is survived by his son, Charles Kennon Harrison, Jr. (Tracy); his mother, Constance Kennon Harriss (Ted); his brothers, Arthur Wideman Harrison III (Martha) and John Russell Williams IV (Ann-Cabell); his grandsons, Charles Kennon Harrison III and James Sanders Harrison; his aunt, Elizabeth Kennon Shuey; his nieces, Constance Cabell Swindell (Bo), Ann Peyton Williams, Caroline Leigh Harrison, and Catherine Sloan Harrison; his great-nephews, Coalter Cotton Swindell and William Peyton Swindell; and so very many cousins, two of whom were very close to his heart, Mimi McDaniel Ziletti and Nancy Kennon Bruchbacher.

Kennon excelled at lacrosse and football on teams at Collegiate School, and could hit a golf ball a country mile, as his dear friend Coley will tell you. His passions were the outdoors, hunting, and fishing. His greatest joys were his son and grandsons, who he adored and of whom he was exceedingly proud. He was never happier than when he was driving his precious grandsons across the fields and low grounds of his beloved Norwood.

A memorial service will be held at St. Luke's Episcopal Church, 2245 Huguenot Trail, Powhatan VA 23139, on Friday, May 9, 2025, at 2 p.m. A reception at Norwood, 1470 Huguenot Trail, Powhatan VA 23139, will follow, and all of his friends are invited to come and reminisce about the life of a truly remarkable man.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Luke's Episcopal Church (address above), or the Coalition of Powhatan Churches, P.O. Box 57, Powhatan VA 23139.
