Chester William Krueger

Mr. Chester William Krueger, 91, of Richmond, died on April 12, 2004. He is survived by his wife of 68 years, Virginia Terrell Krueger; his children, William Krueger and his wife, Donna, Thomas Krueger and his wife, Virginia, and Joan DeHaven; grandchildren, Thomas Krueger Jr., Beth Hausler and her husband, Rich, John Krueger and his wife, Romnia, Terri Kolberg and her husband, Ronald, and Robert De Haven; great-grandchildren, Emily, Alexandra and Richard "Jay" Howsler; and his sister, Florence Long. Mr. Krueger was a U.S. Army veteran serving in the Pacific theater during WWII. Since 1924, he has been a member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church, a member of the choir for over 60 years and had been very active in the leadership of the church. He had owned grocery stores on Brookland Park Blvd. and Chamberlayne Ave., and had been a member of the Board of Directors of Richfood, Inc. He enjoyed flying and was a private pilot. The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the Bliley Funeral Homes' Staples Mill Chapel, 8510 Staples Mill Road, where funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Thursday. Interment to follow in Forest Lawn Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Bethlehem Lutheran Church.
