Christine Williams Obituary

Christine Elizabeth Mix Williams

March 8, 1948 - August 7, 2025

Tina, age 77, passed away on August 7, 2025 in Richmond, Virginia. Tina was born in Monterey, Calif. Tina's father was a pilot in the United States Navy allowing Tina and her three sisters to experience travel across much of the United States. After marriage, Tina traveled to Richmond to establish her home and bring her daughter, Megan, into the world. She took a job as an auditor with the city of Richmond. She worked in the finance department where she handled licenses and assessments, retiring from full-time work after 25 years. She worked several years for the city part-time after retiring.

In her free time, Tina enjoyed visiting the Museum of Fine Arts, attending parades, food festivals, and other local events. She was an active participant in the local, state and federal election process, always encouraging others to exercise their right to have a voice through their vote.

Tina was a friend to her colleagues and neighbors. She tried to help those in need whenever possible. She valued her close connection with her sisters and her numerous friends through frequent and lively telephone conversations.

Tina will be dearly missed by her sisters, Rebecca Mix Yard (Bob), Spring Branch, Texas; and Barbara Mix, Redding, Calif.; and her very dear friends, David Ellis, Donna Mills, and Debbie Carter. These dear ones helped Tina navigate the final months of her life, supporting her with the unflagging devotion of true friendship and continuous prayer.

Tina has chosen to be cremated. Tina's remains will be placed within The Church of the Transfiguration columbarium in New York City where her parents, Arthur and Betty, are also interred.

Tina was a very special person, I worked with her in the Finance Department for years. I never asked Tina for help on the job and she never said no. I got to know Tina better when we worked together after we retired at the Southside Location. She was even more helpful and we had some good conversations. She also checked on me regularly after my surgery. She was a wonderful person and I will surely miss her. RIP my friend.

I saw Tina once a month for the last 35 years due to being her hair stylist.
She had become a friend. Tina was always full of helpful and interesting information.
Every time she came she had a smile and warm greeting.
He
r visits are already missed. Rest in peace friend.

My heart broke when I heard you had passed. Not a day goes by that I wish I could heard your voice one more time. Tina and I spoke one or twice a week about being retired and keeping up with our coworkers and what each other was doing for the week. RIP my dear friend
