Craig Huber Obituary

HUBER, Craig Fox, born October 8, 1943, in Towson, Md., passed on July 20, 2020, at the age of 76. He was preceded in death by his parents, Frances and Erwin Huber; and Nola, beloved mother of his surviving children, Hannah and Hunter. He is also survived by his siblings, Lisa and Scott; and grandchildren, Winn and Libby.

Craig was a third generation veteran of foreign war, proudly serving his country as a United States Marine in Vietnam. His career drew on his military experience and included various roles in law enforcement, private investigating and executive protection.

Devoted father and outdoorsman, Craig raised his children to appreciate and share in his many passions, including hunting, fishing, marksmanship and writing.

For many years the center of his fellowship with nature and his dearest friends took place in the Blue Ridge Mountains, at the Horseshoe Mountain Hunt Club. His love of hunting took him all over the world including many trips to South Africa, where he earned his professional hunting license and guided safaris.

Craig was expert in everything he enjoyed. He published many articles about his experiences and two books on home security and self-defense.

Craig created his own path and enjoyed a life rich with adventure. He made friends everywhere he went. He will be remembered for his humor, wit, storytelling and laughter.

I came to know Craig some years ago when at the time I would help him service and maintain his Toyota trucks. Over the years, we became friends, and I enjoyed his company very much. The world is just a little bit of a dimmer place without Craig light shining on, and he will be missed. Thoughts and prayers to the family

I had no idea that Craig had left us. Iny mind, he was nearly immortal. Many years ago, Craig lived near Conway, Arkansas. We were good friends and hunted together. We were both members of the Faulkner County Emergency Squad. He was a great guy, and will be missed by many, me included.

I just saw that Craig had passed. I am so sorry for your loss. He was definitely a larger than life guy and will be really missed by those close to him. I know that he loved his family passionately and lived life to its fullest. I have never known anyone with such a passion for life. Again, so sorry.

So very sad to hear this. Craig was a great man and neighbor. He even helped me pick out my daughter´s first car. Prayers to his family
