Curtis Robinson Obituary

ROBINSON, Curtis Eugene, went to be with the Lord on Friday, July 7, 2023, at the age of 81. He was preceded in death by his parents, Edgar Robinson and Nellie Crissman; and two brothers, Eddie and William Robinson. He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Edith Mae Napier Robinson; his daughter, Mandi Mulholland (Jon); and three grandchildren, Lauren, Emma, and Justin Mulholland. Other close family members include his nephew, Brett Robinson (Ann); beloved cousin, Lee Smith (Judy); and his sister-in-law, Linda Milam; and brother-in-law, Michael. His training on being a grandparent took place with their three children, Ben (Victoria), Nick (Hart) and Katelyn. Curtis served his country in the U.S. Army, worked for Phillip Morris for several years and retired from DuPont after 31 years. He was a long time member of North Run Baptist Church. Curtis adored his grandchildren and was always the first to give in and spoil them rotten. When he was able to drive, he would take them to after school activities and visits to get special treats. If they wanted it, he found a way to make it happen. He never turned down an opportunity to spend time with his grandchildren and talked about them with anyone that would listen. Curtis never met a stranger and loved people. He was a kind-hearted and gentle soul. In recent years, he had been more home bound than he preferred, but tried to make the most of each opportunity he was given. He was so appreciative of the kind individuals and care given at Manor House, Our Lady of Hope and Serenity First Hospice. The funeral service will take place on Tuesday, July 11, 2023 at 1 p.m. at Bliley's- Staples Mill, 8510 Staples Mill Rd., Richmond, Va. 23228. Family and friends will be received, one hour prior. A private interment will take place at Forest Lawn Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to North Run Baptist Church's benevolence fund or their food pantry.

Curtis and Edith were my next-door neighbors for many years. He was so kind to me as he watched the herst in my driveway on the day they took my husband away. My home is on property that was in Edith's family. I have so many memories of a very kind neighbor. I am so sorry for your loss, Edith and Mandi. Thoughts and prayers are with you.
