Daniel Wesley DeVilbiss Sr.

Daniel Wesley DeVilbiss Sr., 85, of Wytheville, Va., died December 31, 2003. Mr. DeVilbiss was a graduate of the University of Virginia and a member of the Thomas Jefferson Society of Alumni. He also attended the T. C. Williams School of Law at the University of Richmond. He was a distinguished veteran of WWII, decorated with a Purple Heart and Bronze Star. He was preceded in death by his wife of 53 years, Betty Simpkins DeVilbiss, who died November 25, 2003. Surviving are two daughters and their husbands, Deborah and Dr. Gary Tipton of Mechanicsville and Nancy and Dr. James Wilson III of Roanoke; a son, Dr. Daniel DeVilbiss Jr. of Christiansburg. Five surviving grandchildren include Jonathan and Jason Tipton and David, Jennifer and Elizabeth Wilson. Interment will be in Arlington National Cemetery on Wednesday, January 21, 2004 at 2 p.m.
