David Dahl Obituary

DAHL, JR., David L, David L Dahl, Jr., passed away on August 15, 2020, in Mechanicsville, Va. He was born on January 12, 1963, in Richmond. David was a beloved husband to Wendy Mathes Dahl, a cherished father to D. Brett Dahl, and a dear brother to Manina D. Brittingham and uncle to Andrew Brittingham. David and Wendy would have been married for 35 years in May.

David attended Huguenot Academy and went on to pursue a degree in Political Science at the University of Richmond. He had a successful career in sales, most recently as a Manufacturers Rep. for Virginia Maryland Associates (VMA).

In his free time, David found joy in volunteering with Wings of Hope Ranch, a cause that was close to his heart. He dedicated his time and effort to making a positive difference in the lives of others. He also enjoyed travel facing new challenges. A true patriot in all of his endeavors.

David was an active member of Atlee Community Church, where he found solace and community. The church held a special place in his heart.

A ceremony to honor and remember David will be held at Atlee Community Church, Mechanicsville on August 26, 2023 at 3 p.m. Casual dress is requested. Family, friends, and all those whose lives were touched by David are invited to attend and pay their respects. A Celebration of Life will be held immediately after the service at The Hanover Tavern.

David will be deeply missed by his loved ones, including his wife, Wendy Mathes Dahl, his son, D. Brett Dahl, and his sister, Manina D. Brittingham, his nephew Andrew, cousins and rescue dog, Rosey. He was preceded in death by his father, David L Dahl, and his mother, Arretta W. Dahl.

In this time of loss, may we remember David for the love and kindness he shared with others, and may his memory live on in our hearts. A special thanks to At Home Care Hospice for their comfort.

The family asks that donations be made in David's name to Wings of Hope Ranch in Montpelier, Va. (wingsofhoperanch.org) or the Richmond SPCA

I am honored to say David was my close friend from almost the first day I came to Eklof and Associates until the day he passed. I considered him my "younger brother" as we spoke of many things over the years. Many times he shared his love for his wife, Wendy and son Brett, business, politics, football and his faith in our Lord and savior, Jesus. I know without a doubt I will see him again in Heaven.
If your life path crossed David's over the years, you were surely blessed.

I met David in the early 80's, when we both worked for the Mitchell Love Company. Like everyone that knew David, I was impressed with his strong character. What a unique individual! You don't run across many people like David and that is our loss. David and Wendy had a beautiful marriage. Totally in love and a pleasure to be around. I have not seen Brett in years but I am sure he grew up to be a wonderful person just like his parents. The world lost a one of a kind beautiful person. May God comfort the souls of those grieving his passing.

Very sorry to hear that David finally lost his battle to stay with us on this earth. I enjoyed being part of the sales team with David @ Eklof. He was always a hard working & respected sales rep plus a dedicated family man. He carried a positive message wherever he went.
With sincere condolences.
