Madeline & family,
I remember as a teenager going fishing with my Dad,Uncle Jerry, and his buddies with Derek being one of them. He laughed at me because I got sick when we were out on the Cheasapeake Bay area fishing for Blue Fish and the weather was terrible. The boat was tossing us back & forth and why the captain that day decided to launch the boat from the Marina I have never figured it out. That was the first time I had the pleasure of meeting Derek and I enjoyed hanging out with my Uncle Jerry's buddies & my dad. Derek will truly be missed but maybe he will have some bigger fish to catch in heaven.

Gary and Madeline, I was deeply saddened to hear of Derek's passing. I have very fond memories of him over the years sharing an appreciation of Carlton's music at our favorite place for socializing. I will miss his gentle spirit and fun-loving nature. I pray that God will give you the strength you'll need to get through this difficult time. In sympathy and friendship...Valerie M. Allen
