Diane Janet Gaynor Yancey

Diane was born in Harrisonburg, Virginia to Charles Robert Gaynor and Mildred Fitzwater Gaynor. She lived most of her young life in Elkton, Virginia, before moving to Richmond. She received a degree in art history from the University of Mary Washington. Diane enjoyed her career as a graphic artist and traveled internationally as part of her professional career. She was a very talented artist. Her paintings expressed her passion for the beauty of nature. She had a love for dogs, especially her beloved poodles.

Diane is survived by numerous cousins Victor Lee Mauzy (Frances), Karen Dunn, Norman Fitzwater (Joyce), Deborah Mauzy, Patricia Bourne, John Dunn, Kim McIntosh, Richard Dunn, Nicole Lafon, Sara Price (Ben); and many kind neighbors, most notably Brian Maloney.

A graveside service will be held on August 20th at 2 p.m., at Elk Run Cemetery in Elkton, Virginia.

Diane was a beautiful, talented & careing classmate. She was kind and had a smile for everyone.

I will miss the twinkle in her eye and the twitch of her nose when she regaled me with stories of mischief. I will miss her masterful creations of art. I will miss our conversations about landscaping, painting, and the stock market. These are the memories I will forever cherish.
