Djibril Nimaga Obituary
April 14, 1972 - July 12, 2024
Djibril passed away Friday, July 12, 2024 at Chippenham Hospital. He was preceded in death by his mother, Aminata Nimaga. He is survived by his father, Tidiani Nimaga; as well as numerous siblings, nieces and nephews in Mali. In Richmond, he is survived by his children, Miriam and Adam Nimaga.
Born in Bamako, Mali he received a UNESCO scholarship to study at Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznan, Poland. After graduation he made his way to Richmond, VA and worked in the IT field for many years. He had a strong aptitude for languages and math, was passionate about soccer and greatly enjoyed music. He especially loved being a father and was so proud of his children. Djibril had friends around the globe and will be greatly missed.
A service will be held for him on Friday, July 19, 2024 at 2:15 p.m. at the Islamic Center of Virginia. Interment will follow in Crescent Memorial Gardens. Memorial gifts may be made to Islamic Center of Virginia, 1241 Buford Road, North Chesterfield, VA 23235. The family also wishes to thank the greater Malian community in Richmond for their care, kindness and support over the years.

DJIBRIL NIMAGA etait un ami et un frere ,lui et moi on faisait tout ensemble .il etait tres gentil avec tous le monde . Il etait un genie , il etait doter d' une inteligence incroyable . QU'ALLAH le Tout Puissant L'acceuille dans Son Paradis Alfirdaous amen.

I woul'd like in this greatest moment présent my condolences to Djibril NIMAGA Family's, particulary his child's Adam and Miriam and their Mother Marie, Djibril father's and all his parents. May Allah receive him in the paradise. Djibril was a great man and had a great heart. Rest in peace dear friend.

So so sorry to read of Djibril's passing. I've tried to contact him to no avail over the years.
He had a great mind and a great heart.
Adam and Miriam I haven't seen you since you were little children, but I know your hearts are very sad. Please accept my deepest heartfelt condolences.
Mary Catherine...it hasn't been an easy situation, and I'm sure this is hard for you too. I hope you're coping as well as can be expected. It's an awful loss for everybody who knew him.
