Don Unger Obituary
Don Smith Unger, Jr., 69, of Richmond, VA., passed away Friday, August 2, 2024, surrounded by family and loved ones.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Don Smith Unger, Sr., and Lucille May Matheny. He is survived by his daughters, Susan Williams (Josh) and Bonnie Donahue (Shane); grandchildren, Berkley and Beckham; stepdaughters, Blaine Butler (Kyle Gumlock) and Brittney Butler (Doug Dickerson); their children, Vera and Charley; sister, Rebecca Bumgarner (Jeff); and brother Chuck Unger.
Don loved adventure, life, and spending time with his family and friends. He was an entrepreneurial general contractor in the Richmond area for over 45 years. He was his happiest at the river boating and fishing or traveling the world.
A visitation will be held from 12 p.m. to 1 p.m., on Monday, August 12th, with a service beginning at 1 p.m., at Bliley's Staples Mill, 8510 Staples Mill Rd. Interment will follow at Westhampton Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, please consider contributions to the ALS Association.

So sorry to hear of Don´s passing, we grew up together in Skipwith Farms and rode the same school bus when we were kids. Don enjoyed the outdoors way back then and I believe he was in the Boys Scouts, I remember we would talk about camping trips and merit badges and things like that. All our love and blessings to Becky and the Unger Family at this difficult time.
