Donald Seelmann Obituary

SEELMANN, Donald L., 83, of Mechanicsville, formerly of Varina, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, February 12, 2021. He is survived by his wife of 60 plus years, Sandra Wiltshire Seelmann; his children, Kim Seelmann Stallings (Buster), Don Seelmann Jr. (Andrea); grandchildren, Ashley Custalow (Ryan), Katie Kirby, Maura Davidson (Josh), Mallori Norman (Scott), August Seelmann, Peyton Seelmann, Alexandra Crews, McKenzie Crews and Ryan Crews; six great-grandchildren, Chesney Jefferson, Windsor Custalow, Wyatt Custalow, Hunter Davidson, Talon Norman, Ridge Norman; brother, William Seelmann (Susan); and sister, Barbara Miller. Donald was our ROCK; a steadfast FAMILY man who lived for and LOVED his children: building them a legacy, looking forward to his grandson, Peyton, playing varsity football at Hanover High School. He served in the U.S. Army as a paratrooper. Working was his passion, but he enjoyed staying at his Nags Head cottage and decorating his yard with numerous, inflatable Christmas items. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, February 17, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at Nelsen Funeral Home, 4650 S. Laburnum Ave., Richmond, Va. 23231. A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday, February 18, at Fort Lee Baptist Church, 2727 Charles City Rd., Richmond, Va. 23231, with interment to follow in Washington Memorial Park. At Donald's request, expressions of sympathy may be sent to The Shriners or The Richmond SPCA.
