Doris McMillian Obituary

Doris Flippin McMillian, age 74, of Amelia, passed away after a long illness on July 17, 2005. Predeceased by her husband, Elmo W. McMillian, she is survived by her son, Dr. Michael McMillian of Summerville, N. J.; daughters, Beverly Lane and her husband, Jerry of Middlesex County, Amy Gagnon-McMillian of Amelia; sisters, Rachel McMillion, Patsy Aaron; brothers, Dick Flippin, Tommy Flippin, and Danny Flippin, all of Amelia, and Billy Flippin of Farmville; grandchildren, Will, and Gennii Lane, and Morgan Gagnon; and great-granddaughter, Kaydence Congleton; 20 nieces and nephews and numerous great-nieces and nephews. Special thanks to caregivers, Brad and Diane Easter; and her best friend, Billie Hardy. A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, July 19, at 7 p.m. at the Hillsman-Hix Funeral Home, 16409 Court St., Amelia, with interment private. Family will receive friends from 5 p.m. until the time of the service at the funeral home. Contributions may be made to St. John's United Methodist Church, 15823 Five Forks Rd., Amelia, Va. 23002 or donor's choice.
