Doris Tucker Obituary

Doris Watkins Tucker, 84, died Saturday, June 4, 2005 in Colonial Heights Health Care Center. A lifetime resident of Colonial Heights, she was daughter of the late Thomas Floyd Watkins and Amanda Victoria Essig Watkins. She was widow of John Randolph Tucker Sr. Mrs. Tucker was a member of Highland United Methodist Church and a graduate of Petersburg High School. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Patricia T. Dobrick. She is survived by six daughters, Joyce T. Westfall of Petersburg, Mildred T Evans of Chester, Sandra T. Harris (Billy) of Colonial Heights, Faye T. Veazey (Charles) of Dinwiddie, Laura T. Southall (Craig) of Chester and Jeanne T. Harper (Keith) of Chester; one son, John R. Tucker Jr. (Edwina) of Colonial Heights; grandchildren, Joseph Patrick Westfall III, June W. Kimbriel, John Randolph Westfall, Angela Vaughan, Robert Allan Dobrick Jr., Ellen Harvey, Jay Morris Jr., Annette Keene, Kimberly Morris, Clint Riley, Alecia Riley, Richard Harris, Deborah Tuck, Elizabeth Marshall, Cindy Dundalow, Amanda Veazey, Erin Southall, Kara Southall, Matt Southall, Sara Harper, Jennifer Sawyer, Kevin Tucker, Brandon Tucker; along with 25 great-grandchildren; and one brother, William C. Watkins of Colonial Heights. A funeral service will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at Highland United Methodist Church, 127 E. Westover Ave., Colonial Heights with the Rev. David Lewis and Rev. Bill Rawlings officiating. Burial will follow in Blandford Cemetery, Petersburg. The family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at the Colonial Heights Chapel of E. Alvin Small Funeral Home and Crematory, 2033 Boulevard. Flowers are welcome or memorial donations can be made to the Colonial Heights Health Care Center, Employee Involvement Committee, 831 Ellerslie Ave., Colonial Heights, Va. 23834.

I'll always remember the dedication that Mr. & Mrs Tucker had to each other. They would come watch the Church softball games rain or shine and give us support win lose or draw. Gods peace to the family!
