Dorothy "Dottie" McDowell Adams

Dottie McDowell Adams of Richmond passed away peacefully at home on Christmas Day. She dedicated her life to family, especially Keith her husband of fifty-four years, her sons Keith Jr. and Scott, who were the lights of her life, and her beloved sister Kay.

Dottie graduated from Collegiate School and Converse College in South Carolina and was a long time member of the Junior League of Richmond, The Country Club of Virginia, The Tuckahoe Women's Club and Grace and Holy Trinity Episcopal Church.

She retired after a long career as Treasurer of Worth Higgins & Associates, a successful printing and graphics design firm founded by her brother-in-law, the late E. Worth Higgins Jr.

A lover of golden retrievers, she reveled in the long walks she and Keith would take with the many they had over the years. To relax she loved spending time with family and friends along the beaches of the Outer Banks and Bermuda. She cherished time with her lifelong best friend Lee Boisseau.

Dottie was preceded in death by her parents Alfred Henderson McDowell Jr. and Katherine White McDowell. She is survived by her husband Keith DeMaurice Adams, a sister Katherine McDowell Higgins, two sons Keith DeMaurice Adams Jr. and Dr. Scott McDowell Adams and her dog Molly.
