Dorothy Miller Obituary
June 6, 1930 - February 6, 2025
Dorothy Cornelia "Connie" Hoggard Colvig Miller, born on June 6, 1930 in Rich Square, NC, passed away peacefully on February 6, 2025 at her home in Richmond, Virginia. She was 94 years old.
Connie moved to Richmond at the age of 12, where she met her future husband, Jack Colvig, who lived next door. The two were married shortly after high school and shared a loving marriage until Jack's passing in 1995.
A devoted mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, Connie is survived by her four daughters; 11 grandchildren; and 21 great-grandchildren.
Connie was an active member of Chamberlayne Baptist Church for almost 70 years. Her faith and dedication to her church community were constants throughout her life.
One of Connie's proudest achievements was earning her private pilot license. Connie also enjoyed camping, reading, baking, and she always had a special bond with the family's furry friends. Above all else, Connie cherished her family and instilled in her daughters the importance of strong family bonds and independence.
A service to honor Connie's life will be held on Saturday, February 15, 2025, at 11 a.m. in the chapel of River Road Church, Baptist at 8000 River Road, Richmond, VA. A reception will follow at a family member's home. In lieu of sending flowers, please consider making a donation to Lewis Ginter Botanical Garden of Richmond, VA.
Connie's legacy of love, strength, and devotion will continue to inspire all who knew her. May her memory bring comfort to those she leaves behind.

Connie will certainly be missed. She was a dedicated Christian and a loving, talented, caring woman who always had a beautiful smile that lit up the room. Fond memories of wonderful times in our neighborhood and church. Such a beautiful life in every possible way. Rest In Peace dear Connie.
