Dwight Allen Fry

Dwight Fry Obituary

Dwight Allen Fry died at home on April 26, 2005. He was born in Boise, Idaho, the elder son of Mr. and Mrs. Guy O. Fry. He attended Boise Jr. College and left to serve as a fighter pilot in WWII. He was most proud of having been in the 353rd Fighter Group and having been awarded the Purple Heart and the Silver Star. He retired as a major. He was a member of the Masons, the Izaak Walton League, and the Buckingham Hunt Club. Mr. Fry was an avid hunter and fisherman believing that a beautiful sunrise, calling the ducks in, and watching a good dog hunt were all part of what made a good hunt. He was also an accomplished fly fisher and enjoyed deep sea fishing more than most anything else. He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Ann Bemiss Fry; his three daughters, Pamela Powell of Denver, Colo., Ann Kingrea of Richmond, Va., and Laura Fry of Cherry Valley, Ill.; six grandchildren, Billy Kingrea, Christopher Powell, Laura Powell, Allen Powell, Grace Claussen, and Louise Claussen; and four great-grandchildren; and his sister, Margret Erickson of Boise, Idaho. The family will receive friends 5 to 7 p.m. Friday at the Central Chapel of Bennett Funeral Home, 3215 Cutshaw Ave. A service will be held 3 p.m. Saturday, April 30, in Hollywood Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Richmond S.P.C.A., 2519 Hermitage Rd., Richmond, Va. 23220. We will miss him.
