Edna Best Obituary
Edna was an active member of Amity Baptist Church, South Hill and retired from the Mecklenburg County School System after teaching for 38 years.
Edna was predeceased by a son, John A. Best Jr.; and is survived by son, Chadwick Best; and daughter, Jennifer Best DeCuir (Brian); three grandchildren, Britney, Eryn and Bryton; sister-in-law, Elouise Young; brother-in-law, James West; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 12 p.m. Thursday, February 24, 2022 at the South Hill United Methodist Church with Rev. C.A. Ogburn, pastor of Amity Baptist Church officiating. Services entrusted to Oris P. Jones Funeral Est., 434-447-7158, www.orispjones.com.

Dear Family Members and Friends,
Please accept my deepest sympathy and sincere condolences. Edna Earl was my High School classmate and Sunday School classmate at St. Luke Church. I introduced her to John Allen who was my classmate at Central High School. We attended the prom together. I knew her mother, father and siblings very well. Edna was always a very sincere and serious person; she will be missed by everyone that knew her well. May God bless her survivors.

My sincere condolences to the family. Edna was a beautiful person inside and out. My daughter Erin did a long term sub for her and we grew to know and love her then. I will miss our conversations by phone as we talked about those grandchildren. She was so kind and down to earth.
