Edward DEWEY Obituary

DEWEY, CAPT, SC USN (RET.), Edward P., 89, of Glen Allen, Virginia, passed away on Thursday, October 6, 2022. He was preceded in death by his parents, Glen H. Dewey and Irene W. Dewey; first wife, Louise F. Dewey; sisters, Dorothy Manning and Barbara Christy; and grandson, James R. Dewey. He is survived by his loving wife, Deborah B. Dewey; son, Patrick F. Dewey (Melinda); granddaughters, Courtney and Allison Dewey; sisters-in-law, Charlene B. Valenzuela and Judy B. Fisher (Chip); and many nieces and nephews.

CAPT Dewey honorably served in the U.S. Navy for 31 years. Then farmed for 30 years. He loved tinkering with electronics and anything electrical. He had a keen sense of humor and made life fun, and especially enjoyed spending time with his family. A Memorial Service will be held on Wednesday, October 26, 2022 at 3 p.m. in the chapel at the Virginia Veterans Cemetery at Amelia, 10300 Pridesville Road, Amelia Court House, Virginia 23002. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to The United States Navy Memorial.
